The price of gold in the country has set a new record crossing the 1.5 lakh Taka mark for the first time ever. Following a recent price increase announcement on Monday the price of 22 carat gold has now reached 1,51,282 Taka per tola.

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) confirmed this price hike through an official statement. According to BAJUS the price adjustment is due to the rise in the global market price of refined gold which has led to an increase in the local gold prices. The new rates will take effect from tomorrow (Tuesday).

In this adjustment the price of gold has been increased by a maximum of 1,470 Taka per tola. As a result, the price of 22 carat gold will be 1,51,282 Taka per tola. This marks the highest price recorded for gold in the country’s history.

This marks the fourth time that the price of gold has been increased in February. The last increase took place on February 10 when the price of gold per tola was raised by 1,194 Taka bringing the cost of 22 carat gold to 1,49,812 Taka.

Under the new pricing, starting tomorrow, 22 carat hallmark gold will be sold for 1,51,282 Taka per tola 21 carat gold will be priced at 1,44,400 Taka 18-carat gold will cost 1,23,767 Taka and traditional gold will be priced at 1,01,932 Taka per tola.

This means that starting tomorrow, the price of 22 carat gold will increase by 1,470 Taka 21-carat by 1,399 Taka 18-carat by 1,190 Taka, and traditional gold will rise by 115 Taka.

This is a significant event in the gold market of the country as the price of gold continues to be an important factor in the daily lives of people.
