Marc Fogel an American teacher who had been wrongfully detained in Russia for over three years was recently freed and returned to the U.S. in a deal facilitated by President Donald Trump. Fogel was greeted warmly at the White House and expressed his deep gratitude for being back on American soil describing his emotions as overwhelming. Fogel who had been arrested in August 2021 for carrying cannabis into Russia was initially sentenced to 14 years in a Russian labor camp.
