Adam  a former congressman who was a frequent critic of Donald Trump after the 2020 election, recently stated that the current Republican Party can be accurately described as “Republicans in Name Only” (RINO).

 explained that while many call him a “RINO,” in reality, the entire Republican Party fits that label now. They only hold the title of the Republican Party but have lost the core principles it once stood for. Today, the Republican Party is defined by anger, division, and a focus on culture wars, with one key figure driving it: Donald Trump. According to  the party has become one centered around a single person and his personality.

Having served on the committee that investigated the January 6th Capitol attack,  believes that the GOP will struggle in the future. He predicted that Trumpism wouldn’t last beyond the next few years, and the Republican Party might face a long period of decline. Despite his disillusionment, he still holds hope that the party can be revived, emphasizing that America will likely always have two major political parties, with the Republicans being one of them.

In view, the Democrats are now the party that defends America’s role in the world, particularly in supporting Ukraine, something he is passionate about. He expressed concern that the Republicans, like George W. Bush at the end of his second term, may face a similar fall-off, but unlike Bush, Trump’s grip on his base would likely endure.

Though he doubts the Republican Party can be saved in the short term, remains hopeful that people will continue fighting within the party for its future.
