President-elect Donald Trump will be inaugurated on Monday marking the official beginning of his second term in office. The ceremony symbolizes the peaceful transfer of power between the outgoing Biden administration and the incoming Trump administration. According to the 20th Amendment the presidential term ends at noon on January 20, and the president-elect is sworn in shortly thereafter.

What time does Trump’s inauguration begin?
The ceremony is set to begin around 11:30 a.m. ET with Trump’s swearing-in scheduled for about noon officially marking the start of his second term. Originally planned for the West Front of the U.S. Capitol the ceremony has been moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to expected cold temperatures in Washington D.C. on Monday.

Though there is no official time limit for the ceremony similar events, such as Trump’s 2017 inauguration and Biden’s 2021 ceremony, each lasted about an hour.
Inauguration Day Schedule
The inauguration will begin with a musical prelude performed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Combined Choirs and The President’s Own U.S. Marine Band. Senator Klobuchar will then issue the call to order followed by an invocation from Archbishop Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York and Reverend Franklin Graham.

Afterward Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the presidential oath to Trump. The Naval Academy Glee Club will perform The Battle Hymn of the Republic and Trump will deliver his inaugural address.
The ceremony will conclude with a benediction by religious leaders Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman president of Yeshiva University Imam Husham Al of the Islamic Education Center Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of 180 Church Detroit and Reverend Father Frank Mann from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. The National Anthem will be sung as the final piece of the ceremony.
